It seems as if the only thing that LeBron James and Kobe
Bryant have in common is their soon to be just a faint memory head of hair.
From LeBron’s low tide looking, I’m trying to savoir the moment by using my
headband as a diversion fade away hairline; to Kobe’s crop circle that he tries
to camouflage by telling his barber anything higher than a 1 cut against the
grain is just uncivilized. So if it aint about hair, then the similarities just aint there. Oh yeah, there is one more thing they have in
common, they’re both basketball players. I bet you didn’t know that.
Anyways, now we could sit here and talk numbers all day or
we could get straight to pointing out the obvious. I’m thinking let’s go with
the obvious because who really has a long enough attention span to read a blog
when they’re so many other things to do like play Words With Friends, or see
how many words you can spell incorrectly per Facebook post. (And then you
wonder why you can’t get a job, probably because your Facebook is a running
resume that Human Resources ACTUALLY looks at.) So yeah, straight to the point,
Kobe Bryant kills in the fourth quarter and LeBron plays dead. LeBron makes
statements like “I’m ok with the way we played, we played good Miami Heat
basketball” after a lost, while Kobe makes statements like “ I hate ‘em” when it
comes to playing against the opposition. I’m just saying, Kill or be Killed
Yes LeBron is more athletic and in his prime at a young 27,
so why does Kobe Bryant have more kill than him during the downside of his
career at an old 33? Maybe 30 is the new 20 and 27 is just 27. I could throw
Dwyane Wade in the mix but then I might be considered a LeBron hater, and you
know how you people who are oh so sensitive get with using the word hater.
I would like to give LeBron his props though, he’s hitting
the block more, his jump shot looks good and he might have added a couple of
more moves to his repertoire besides drive right because my left arm is in a
sling. His triple threat is looking pretty good also, and pivoting to the spin
is looking great. Now for Kobe, let’s just say whatever those doctors did to
his knee has him looking like he’s 27 all over again. A lot slower but the
moves are fantastic, minus the excessive turnovers.
Both players are in two totally different situations so you
might argue that Kobe is only scoring like he is scoring because he has to and
LeBron isn’t because he has Dwyane Wade and Christina (Chris) Bosh to help him
score. Well, LeBron and Kobe are neck and neck when it comes to points per game so who
said anything about scoring? This is kill or be killed. LeBron was brought over
to do what LeBron does and if you’re a history buff, he’s doing exactly what he
does, playing the radio when the 4th quarter shows up. Where is Tim
Tebow and his faith when you need them? Yes his numbers look great right now
but give D-Wade (the killer on the team) the ball when it’s time to finish the
opponent off. And give Kobe the ball whenever Kobe wants the ball no matter who
team he is on. His bad shot is equivalent to most players’ best shot. But what
do I know? I’m just a voice who knows nothing about basketball. So who do you
think is a better all around basketball player, LeBron or Kobe and why? Kevin
Durant and Derrick Rose I see you!!! (That had nothing to do with anything, but I see you!!!!)
Kenny Smith had a nice segment last night on Kobe in the fourth and his horrible possessions and forced shots. More often than not Lebron will make the better play fundamentally, but if they lose then you wish he would've done more, and I'm not denying that I as a fan want him to do more as well, but really, he has Wade for that and unless his mismatch is horribly obvious, like Chauncey guarding him the other night, he should defer to Wade. Kobe will chunk up a baseline fadeaway with 3 people in his face while completely ignoring two wide open teammates because he so desperately wants to be that dude. Whether it's in the best interest of the team or not, he wants that shot and will always take it, if he makes it, great, if he doesn't, no one remembers because a few games down the line he'll be right back in that position forcing that same shot because it's all he knows and mentally he can't change. That's what makes the real difference, Kobe could fuck his team 15 games in a row, and in that 16 game he's gonna play the exact same, like those previous 15 games never happened, and if he's successful in that 16th game, then that's all that matters and he's a hero and has justified his hardheadedness for the time being.
ReplyDeleteok Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Evening, whichever one applies, Now to debate at hand, this clearly a no-brainer. Whoever thinks Lebron James is better than Kobe Bryant needs to go re-evaluate their analysis. Kobe is better. Now I love Lebron, absolutely love the young man and he is one of my favorites but I always put FACTS OVER FAVORITES. People say Lebron is better because he is more athletic, average better numbers, better teammate and better leader, which may be true but listen. Lebron numbers are better than Durant, Wade, and Melo but some people think they are better than LeBron. This is the facts. Kobe is better offensively, more in his arsenal and execute them better, better on the ball defender, better free throw shooter, better post game, better mid-range, and his killer instinct exceeds lebron killer instinct by far. Kobe loves conflict and pressure while lebron shy away. Kobe had more killer instinct in him as a rookie shooting 3 airballs in a playoff game than Lebron do now as a 9 year player in the league. If you the leader and best player on your team, then when the 4th Q comes and the game is tied or you are down, then you suppose to step up to the plate. Im not even sure Lebron is the best player on the Heat right now. With Lebron size, speed, power, skill and athleticism, he should be smashing everybody in their mouth but he let Shawn Marion and Jason Terry punk him in the finals, Im sorry but anytime a man go on national tv and call you out saying "He cant guard me for a full series", Jason Terry said that about Lebron, and he is 6 inches shorter and 70lbs lighter but you are just as fast as he is plus better, and you let him do what he want on the court, then something is wrong. I could go on and on but I think is more than enough for now until I see that I have to elaborate and go in greater detail. I love Lebron but Kobe is better.
